folk art tradition.
For over 6 years we have been working with them
helping them refine their techniques and encouraging their creativity
with ideas and new designs. Many are mothers, who are able to work from
home while taking care of their children. They share ideas

Crisantino Montes
Crisantino and his exquisite handloom work was a lucky discovery from our
last trip to Ayacucho. The quality of his baby alpaca super fine weaving caught
our attention but the breathtaking colors of his tapestries really captivated
our hearts. No question, he is a color wizard, creating amazing combinations on
each of his signature art pieces. As a talented chemist he develops his own
natural colors using traditional cochinilla, local plants and minerals.
