“I have been creating Boruca masks since 2000. All of my pieces are unique because I put my heart and soul into every detail, which is why it takes me two to three days to complete a piece. I usually work with other artists, but sometimes I wander up into the mountains to take photos and to find silence and inspiration. There is so much more I want to do including study English to teach. I also want to learn about environmentally friendly construction to build my home.”

Domingo’s work has a distinctive and uplifting boldness. For three years, he lived in Guanacaste, a beach tourist town, where he had the unique experience of running his own gallery. That gave him an expanded business perspective of what it takes to promote his own art.
