Ceramic artist Wilber Sarmiento

Wilber, a ceramic artist from Cusco is one of multiple new artists that joined us this year. He creates traditional religious art and ceramic figurines. He is the artist behind our adorable ceramic animal families.

Wilber learned his techniques from his father who is a regional art teacher in the Cusqueña style, a traditional religious art style that began in Peru in the 16th century. He hopes to instill those skills in his children as well. He's been creating art for more than 35 years now and his skills have allowed him to receive several awards and recognitions. Wilbur is proud to pass on a little of the popular Cusco tradition to the general public and is pleased that doing so allows him to provide for his family.
